Is this a real room, or another group chat?

It is a real room. These are photographs from launch night in St. Pete, 10 July 2026: custom branded cigars, a live roller, catering, and about fifty founders in it. We do this every quarter. Members fly in, and members who cannot still get the calls, the software and the directory every week.

Questions owners ask before applying

Is it cheaper to use AI systems or hire an employee?

An AI system is cheaper in almost every case. A forty two thousand dollar salary plus employer payroll taxes at 7.65 percent, unemployment insurance and workers compensation lands close to fifty thousand a year, before training or cover. A system is built once and runs every day. The honest limit: it handles repeatable work, not judgement or relationships.

What can I automate instead of hiring someone?

Anything repeatable that eats the same hours every week. The most common ones our members bring in: posting and scheduling content, following up on quotes and leads, sorting the inbox, writing recurring reports, and turning one recording into a month of posts. One forty five minute podcast produced 152 pieces of content in about two minutes, a job a member in the room estimated at three to four hours by hand.

Should I hire a virtual assistant or build an AI system?

Build the system first, then hire a VA to run it if you still need one. Against a VA the cost gap is small, so cost is the wrong reason to choose. A system works at three in the morning and does it the same way every time; a VA handles judgement and exceptions. Hire the VA before building the system and you pay someone to do work that did not need doing.

Can you really run a business without employees?

The goal is not zero employees, it is zero employees hired to cover busywork. That is what we mean by stop hiring and start building: you stop making a hire because the admin has piled up, and anyone you do bring on is doing work that genuinely needs a person. Members build the systems first and hire on top of them, which is a smaller and much better hire.

Do I need to be technical to join?

No. Most members already use ChatGPT casually and have never built a system. We build it with you in the room rather than sending you a course to work through alone.

How much does the 1BB Owners Club cost?

We give you the number when we text you after reading your application, before you commit to anything. Membership includes four live calls a week, the in-person events, and the 1 Button Business software.

Do I have to live near you to join?

No, and nothing about the weekly rhythm depends on where you live. The four live calls, your second brain, the private feed and the member directory all run from anywhere in the country. The single exception is the content party we throw each quarter in St. Pete, Florida. Members fly in for it, members skip it, and both are normal. If you are close by you will get more face time, and we would rather say that out loud than pretend the difference does not exist.

Who runs the room

Drey Thomas builds AI marketing systems, and has worked with large influencers and podcasts on content that reaches millions of views. He is the one who builds the system with you on the call.

Kevin Clavier runs the coaching side and hosts the member calls. He is the one on the mic in most of these photos, and the one who said the line at the top of this page about a month of posts taking five hours.

Both of them are in the room at every event. This is not a brand with a founder who stopped showing up.

Now you are at dinner with your family and you have posts going out across all platforms. You do not have to think about it.
